Republican Party of LA County Chairman Timothy O’Reilly

Timothy L. O’Reilly is a Los Angeles County native and an unapologetic Constitutional conservative. He believes in the founding principles of the Republican Party — the preeminence of the individual; the right to choose how to live one’s own life; that freedom and liberty are God given rights; and that government must be limited in its power.

Out of college, he was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, following 28 years of distinguished military service, mostly in the active reserves.

As a lawyer in Long Beach, Tim has been a prosecutor, defense lawyer, and a civil trial attorney in a wide variety of criminal, business, and real estate cases. He is rated by the prestigious Martindale Hubble lawyer rating service as “AV” (Preeminent Legal Ability/Very Ethical – awarded to less than 5% of attorneys in US).

Tim’s volunteer work for the Republican Party, and its candidates started in high school. He has walked precincts, made phone calls, and registered Republicans. He understands the real groundwork of politics. In 2016, voters elected him to the Central Committee of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County. He quickly took on leadership as the Chairman of the 70th (later 69th) Assembly District Committee (Long Beach) and was reelected multiple times. He is full Delegate member to the California Republican Party (CAGOP), where he also serves as Chairman of the CAGOP Veterans Committee; Chairman of the 2024 CAGOP Platform Committee.

In September 2022, Tim became Chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County. He was elected to his first full two-year term in December 2022.

Tim has been married to his wife Stacy for over 33 years and they have three adult children, each of whom has either served, or is currently serving, in some capacity in the US Army.
