Pepperdine’s School of Public Policy Dr. James Coyle
Dr. James Coyle is an international consultant on issues of national security. He has been a lecturer at Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy in the same field for over 20 years. Prior to his time in academia, Dr. Coyle had a distinguished career with the US government. Some of his positions included Director of Middle East Studies at the US Army War College, First Secretary for Political Military Affairs at the US Embassy, Ankara, Turkey; Senior Political Analyst for Palestinian Affairs; member, New York Joint Terrorism Task Force.
He is the author of numerous articles and several books, including Russia’s Border Wars and Frozen Conflicts. He is a frequent lecturer on Russian relations with its periphery, including Ukraine.
Coyle received his bachelor of science in foreign service from Georgetown University, his master’s degree in public administration from Temple University, and a PhD in political science from George Washington University.
