IMMIGRATION CONTROL EXPERT R.J. HAUMAN

RJ Hauman joined the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in 2015, bringing valuable experience to the organization at a critical time. With a strong understanding of Washington’s policy, political, and media landscapes, as well as deep personal relationships, RJ has been able to effectively defend and advance FAIR’s priorities throughout his tenure. As head of government relations, RJ leads FAIR’s advocacy efforts before Congress and the administration. He also oversees the communications department, developing and executing the organization’s overall messaging strategy while serving as a primary media spokesperson. His commentary has been quoted by The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, POLITICO, and numerous other publications. His work has been published in The Hill, Fox News, Daily Caller, Breitbart, and others. Prior to joining FAIR, RJ was a member of the policy team at a nationwide organization for state banking, representing bank regulators of the 50 states, as well as 5,000 state-chartered financial institutions with more than $4.9 trillion in combined assets. Before that, he worked on Capitol Hill, gaining immigration policy experience as an aide to former Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-CA), who chaired the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement. RJ received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Clemson University and his Master’s degree in Political Management at The George Washington University.
