Assemblyman, Dante Acosta

Dante Acosta was elected in November 2016 to represent California’s Santa Clarita based 38th Assembly District. Acosta is Vice-Chair of the Natural Resources Committee as well as to the highly influential Committee on Governmental Organization.

Before joining the Assembly, Dante served as Mayor Pro Tem on the Santa Clarita City Council. In the private sector, he worked as the General Sales Manager of a car dealership, and in a number of senior leadership positions in the finance industry as well as volunteering for several worthwhile charities. He attended California State University, Northridge, and the University of Phoenix.

Dante is very supportive of both veterans and active duty military. His eldest son, Rudy Acosta an Army Specialist, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Dante and his wife Carolyn live in Santa Clarita, where they raised their three children.

The Santa Clarita Valley is the new GOP political front line. For many years this district, which encompasses the Cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and the Porter Ranch area, was considered safe ground for Republicans and conservative principles. However, changing demographics and organizational weakness in the Republican Party have created a new reality in Los Angeles County. Except for the southeast San Gabriel Valley, all the Republican representation at the state and federal levels in Los Angeles County is in our region of the County.

How are Assemblyman Acosta, along with Senator Wilk, Assemblyman Lackey, and Congressman Steve Knight, working together to shore up our region and carry a message to Los Angeles and Ventura Counties about what a renewed California Republican Party can offer? Come hear from Assemblyman Dante Acosta about his priorities, how he will retain this seat, and why this area matters so deeply for our Republican future!
