Jon Hatami Candidate for L.A. County District Attorney

Jon Hatami is a 17-year veteran prosecutor of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He is currently assigned to the Complex Child Abuse unit as a senior trial attorney handling 17 complex child abuse murders that were committed in Los Angeles County, including one in Canyon Country. He has handled thousands of child physical and sexual abuse cases and has prosecuted over 80 felony jury trials including the four-month trial of the torture and murder of Gabriel Fernandez and the 6-week trial of the torture and murder of Anthony Avalos.

He was the prosecutor of the year in Antelope Valley in 2016, the prosecutor of the year by the Los Angeles County Bar Association in 2019 and was featured in the 6-part Netflix documentary “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez” in 2020.

He is a veteran of the United States Army, a husband, a father of two beautiful children and a 38-year resident of Santa Clarita.
