Candidate for L.A. County Sheriff, Assistant Sheriff Brendan Corbett
Assistant Sheriff Brendan Corbett has served proudly for over thirty-nine years, building a career centered on integrity, accountability and community trust. He spent 15 years at the Special Enforcement Bureau on both K9 and SWAT. He worked with and learned from the finest and was fortunate to work in every corner and community in LA County.
Sheriff Corbett has been the recipient of the Meritorious Conduct Silver Medal, received three Distinguished Service Medals, the NYPD Detective Endowment Association Award, the Pioneer Award from the Center for Health Justice as well as numerous commendations.
Sheriff Corbett’s positions on the issues:
- Community Safety is a priority. He plans to build safer neighborhoods through an increased community presence, trust and active engagement.
- Regarding Homelessness, he plans to implement and improve custody release, which will put those with mental illness or substance abuse on a path to wellness while in the care and custody of the Department.
- Sheriff Corbett will insist on accountability and fiscal responsibility through proper policy and oversight, and fiscal responsibility through efficiency.
- Sheriff Corbett will utilize technology responsibly – to use modern tools and data to improve performance and effectiveness.
- He will work with established community leaders and elected officials to actively engage them in solution-oriented plans with measurable results, building confidence in the community.
- Sheriff Corbett’s life has been guided by resilience, service and commitment to others; values he will uphold as Sheriff of Los Angeles County.
