The West Los Angeles chapter of The Los Angeles County Lincoln Clubs is enjoying a renaissance under the leadership of leading local conservative political activist and businessman Mark Burman. Chapter meetings featuring top speakers from local, state and national Republican leadership are held monthly at outstanding venues like Arnie Morton’s The Steakhouse in Beverly Hills and have become a “must-attend” for the politically active in West Los Angeles. Prominent international businessman Ali Razi founded this chapter in 1995.
To the surprise of some, it flourished in the largely Democrat area north of Los Angeles International Airport including Santa Monica, Venice, Bel Air, Brentwood, Westwood, Malibu, Century City and Beverly Hills.
In January of 2003, Mr. Razi turned over the reins to famed urologist Dr. Phil Kurzner. Dr. Kurzner was a volunteer leader in the Bush campaign of 2000 and the Simon gubernatorial campaign in 2002. With his great skills, passion for public service and warm personality, Phil Kurzner lead the West Los Angeles Chapter to great successes.
Taking his dedication to service of our state to the next level, Dr. Kurzner launched his campaign for State Insurance Commissioner and passed the chairmanship to Burman in 2005.
